Equipment Engineers/Technicians - Berkshire, Berkshire EQUIPMENT ENGINEERS/TECHNICIANS MECHANICAL, PNEUMATIC/ VACUUM ASSEMBLIES ASCOT, BERKSHIRE This world leading manufacturer of industrial diamond products is now seeking two Equipment Engineers/Technicians to join them at their R & D and Production facilities based in Ascot, Berkshire. You will form part of their growing team responsible for the development of Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) diamond synthesis and its use in a wide range of applications including lasers, electrochemicals, particle detectors, high frequency electronics and quantum optics. As the Equipment Engineer/Technician you will support scientific research staff and work with vacuum based chemical vapour deposition equipment and scientific analysis equipment. Your responsibilities will include the design and installation of mechanical, pneumatic/vacuum assemblies. You will also design and build electrical control cabinets, assemblies and control systems. Your role will include fault finding and repairing electrical/electronic/pneumatic/vacuum systems, as well as designing control and safety related systems. You will perform routine maintenance tasks, such as strip down and reassembly of vacuum chambers and assemblies, calibration of sensors and gauges, equipment safety checks, electrical equipment maintenance and operational testing. Furthermore, you will operate analytical equipment and interpret results to satisfy operational performance. You will also need to be prepared for call outs for plant/site alarms. In addition you will perform preventative plant maintenance on production and plant equipment. Successful applicants will ideally be qualified to at least BTEC/HNC/HND level or above in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or have completed a relevant technical apprenticeship. They will also consider applicants with the City and Guilds 2382 certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 IEE Wiring Regulations 17th edition or the 2391 Level 3 certificate in Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations. A relevant equipment design qualification or experience will also be considered. A background of CVD/PECVD related technical equipment work PLC equipment design and fault find (hardware and software) and/or high power RF power supplies is also required. You should be computer literate and skills in CAD (this particular company uses CoCreate Onespace) would be ideal.
