We are actively seeking a Principal Power Engineer to join our extremely well regarded consultancy team. The ideal candidate for this Principal position would be experienced and respected in their field and have practical experience of transmission, distribution or generation projects. They will take a leading role within the team and provide mentoring and development support where required. Opportunities are available in both main offices in Manchester or Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Both offices are centrally located with good public transport links to the surrounding areas. Overnight stays will occasionally be required. Duties and Responsibilities It is critical, at this level, that the candidate has an excellent client focus and is able to interpret client requirements and manage and deliver sometimes difficult or complex projects to their satisfaction. This would include engaging proactively with clients to deliver new business opportunities as well as maintaining current relationships, undertaking and managing project work, writing and reviewing documents and reports and managing, supporting and guiding other team members. The candidate should be able to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner whilst still being capable of technical discussions at a high level. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent with Chartered Engineer status or pending. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Essential Good general numeric and mathematical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality technical reports.
