Title Turbine Controls EngineerSalary GBP 28-35kLocation Rugby, WarwickshireStart Date ASAPCompany DescriptionOur client, one of the worlds leading services provider in Power Generation, with offices all over the globe, possessthe broadest scope of power generation systems, equipment and services in the industry.The role of their Steam Turbine SEC (STST) at Rugby is to sell upgrades and noble parts; provide technical support andsupervision worldwide; to perform plant technology assessments including technical consultancy and product training; todevelop products to bring to market, and to take contract and execution responsibility and assure risk management for thetechnology.Within the STST the Turbine Controls Section undertake the sales, tendering and design execution of steam turbinegovernors and supervision equipment (TSE). This activity encompasses technical support for customers and full equipmentreplacement, spares and repairs.PositionThey have a vacancy for a Turbine Controls Engineer to take technical responsibility for the supply and support ofturbine supervision equipment (TSE). TSE embraces the measurement, display and diagnostics associated with the monitoringtypically of speed, vibration, eccentricity, valve position, thrust wear and differential expansion.Key SkillsMain duties and responsibilities include:applications: TSE systems configuration, hardware specification and software characterisation for tenders and contractspreparation of tendersproject managementtechnical liaison with the LSC and customerscustomer support: spares and repairsCandidates should be qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline or have Corporate Engineer status; have abackground in steam turbine monitoring preferably with both design and site experience; possess good technical abilitieswith a sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles and the ability to apply them to practical situations;have an understanding of the instrumentation of the turbine measurements including the electronics and the detectors; becapable of working with minimum supervision and have good interpersonal and communication skills.Services advertised by Electus Recruitment Solutions are those of an Agency.
