It operates one of Europes largest distribution operations.As a fast growing GBP 37 billion global business at the forefront of its industry, it has never been afraid to set ambitiousand challenging goals and understands that only exceptional people will ensure such goals become a reality.Our Clients distribution centres are intensive 24 hour 7 days per week operations, combining leading edge technology anda challenging agenda to ensure continuous improvement to deliver excellent service to its stores.To enable our Clients distribution centre staff to give our Client their best they need an additional Transport TeamManager at their grocery distribution centre in Hertfordshire, willing to lead by example.Reporting into the DC Transport and Customer Services Manager, the successful candidate will be jointly managing a largeteam of drivers and support staff ensuring that the right products reach the shelves on time, every time. You willcarry out a range of tasks from assigning Drivers and planning their schedules to ensuring all drivers hours and DOTrequirements are met.Aided by state of the art technology and the latest industry methods, you will play a vital part in thedistribution centre operation in the achievement of balanced targets in the areas of people, operations, customers andfinance. In addition you will ensure the processes within the DC transport function are managed within our ClientsHealth and Safety, Legal and Security policy framework.Skills:You will need to demonstrate the ability to translate our Clients vision into how you and your team operate daily, aswell as a hands on approach to succeed in a demanding environment.This is a frontline role leading a team of Drivers and transport support staff and championing excellence, which requirestwo to three years transport supervisory / management experience coupled with a sound grasp of current practice andtransport legislation, ideally, though not essentially within a distribution or retail environment.As an experienced leader of people you will have the proactive ability to challenge existing practices and drive throughchange to benefit the business.Excellent analytical, organisation and communication skills coupled with influencing skills and teamwork, will alreadyhave ensured your success as a supervisor or manager.If you want to grow both yourself and those around you, then by joining our Client you will receive quality training anddevelopment, together with excellent career prospects.The salary range is GBP 29250 GBP 36000. The successful candidates starting salary will be determined by the candidatesskill set and experience.
