Our client build new homes (ranging from standard 3 bed to luxury 5/6 bed) in over 60 different locations throughoutEngland, Scotland and Wales. Our client is one of the U.K.'s top 10 residential and commercial property developers, witha reputation for build and service quality. Each Company, supported by its own infrastructure offers opportunities inLand & Planning, Construction, Sales, Technical & Engineering, Commercial and Accounts. We are looking to recruit aTechnical Director for the Scottish region, and specifically someone who is looking to grow with a rapidly developingorganisation.The Role:You will lead and manage the Technical team, overseeing all technical, engineering and architectural aspects of thebusiness, from site evaluation to architectural and engineering design, investigation and resolution of technical issues,through to site completion and final adoptions.Your role will involve taking joint responsibility for managing the fees and services budget for each development, forproducing technical design solutions within the cost plan and for contributing to strategic planning and budgets.Above all, you will seek to ensure best practice within your team and that it maximises its contribution to revenuegeneration and profitability.Reporting to the Managing Director/Regional Director, you will take responsibility for all aspects of our constructionoperation, including build programme, build quality, cost control, Health & Safety and customer satisfaction.You will work with the Managing Director/Regional Director to agree critical paths and build programmes, liaise with theHead of Commercial on the appointment of sub-contractors and suppliers, and work with the Head of Sales to ensure thatbuild programmes dovetail with Sales Exchange and Completion targets.Your team will include our Contracts Managers, Site Managers, all site staff and our Customer Care Manager.Requirements:An excellent communicator who is a natural team leader and has the drive and ambition to grow within a successfulbusiness.Ideally degree educated in preferably architecture, civil engineering, commercial management, surveying or buildingstudies. An MBA would be an advantage. |
