Applicants must be willing to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK if requestedLine Manager: Director, PVG EuropeBasic Purpose and objective:The Team Manager has overall responsibility for the planning, co-ordination and delivery of a group of assigned projects(typically grouped by sponsor). All projects should be delivered on time, to appropriate quality standards and withinbudget. In addition the Team Manager will have line management responsibility for a group of PVG Scientists, SeniorScientists, Associate Scientists and administration staff (as necessary).Position scope:Ensures team has sufficient resource to run assigned projects and gives team direction on assigned projects and tasks.Works with other Team Managers and Director to develop a consistent internal process and ensures that this is followed.Provides plans and accurate forecasts for all projects and ensures timely progress by monitoring study metrics.Pro-actively liaises with the Project Manager (as appropriate) and Sponsors to ensure optimal performance and utilisationof the PVG project team.Supervisory responsibilities:Responsibility for managing a team of staff (as above) including staff co-ordination, training and development.Duties and Responsibilities (according to relevant guidelines, laws and SOP's)1. Manages all aspects of allocated studies2. Serves as the senior contact for PVG issues (backed up by study lead as appropriate). This includes effectivelyliaising with Sponsors, Project Managers and internal staff.3. Involved in the preparation of PVG cost proposals and sponsor presentations4. Responsible for creating and maintaining a detailed project plan for PVG aspects of projects in association with theProject Manager and other related departments (e.g. Medical Affairs)5. Identifies resource requirement by staff type in advance and ensures that the resource is in place for all assignedprojects6. Ensures that for all assigned projects the PVG tasks are completed accurately, on time and within budget7. Ensures that for each assigned project there are weekly standard status summaries and accurate monthly forecasts8. Allocates clear responsibilities within the PVG project team to enable all targets to be met9. Ensures that all assigned projects are set-up in line with the contract Sponsor specifications, the PVG standardapproach, SOPs/WPDs and relevant guidelines. In addition ensures that there is adequate ongoing review of outputthroughout processing to assess accuracy and quality10. Contributes as part of the PVG management team to developing processes, training plans, standards (e.g. metrics) andSOPs/WPDs11. Ensures that their management team are appropriately reviewed, developed and trained12. Ensures that their team work to the latest SOPs/WPDs and to ICH guidelines/Local regulations regarding clinicaltrials, regulatory documents and safety issues13. Reviews the performance of the team as a whole in order to identify areas where quality and efficiency can beimprovedQualifications:Bachelor's or higher graduate degree in a science related field, licensed or certified health care training or equivalentexperienceSkills and knowledge:Excellent organisational and interpersonal skillsAbility to co-ordinate, manage and motivate a teamProcess orientated with good attention to detailEffective oral and written communication skillsGood computer skills and the ability to learn appropriate softwareGood understanding of safety database software, MS Word, MS ExcelGood English language and grammar skillsGood medical/therapeutic area knowledge and medical terminology preferredExperience:A minimum of five years' relevant experience. This experience should include a proven understanding of the PVG processand experience in leading a project to successful completion. Preference will be given to candidates who have relevantline management/supervisory experience.
