Description:

To be responsible for the technical solution provided for the WATCHKEEPER communications sub-system including alltechnical aspects of the supply chain, defining the engineering processes to be followed implementing robust systemsengineering approach through structured application of process, lead an engineering team of domain experts, planning andestimating the engineering activity required for the programme including resource requirements. You will manage theexternal and internal technical reviews, managing technical risk through identification and implementation of appropriatetechnical mitigation and contingency actions.Candidates should have experience of working in a supervisory/managerial engineering capacity in a structuredenvironment. Ideally to have worked in a UK military organisations/defence engineering systems environment - preferablyconcerned with airborne communications. Experience should have been gained in the whole design lifecycle from systemsarchitecture definition to acceptance and installation. Experience in configuration management, QA, project planning,airworthiness/safety and process improvement with in-depth project experience and a good understanding of business andcommercial issues.Candidates should be qualified to degree in an engineering discipline and have 5-10 years experience in adefence-engineering environment, preferably airborne communications (e.g. RF, IFF, Datalinks).
