Bright, colourful and alive with the chirping of birds, squeaking of small animals and splashing of fish, our stores arefull of theatre.As Store Manager Designate you will report to the Retail Director and be supported by the Retail Development Managers(Area Managers). We are somewhat different to other retailers because we sell live stock but the general experience youhave gained in other quality retailers will still apply and help you make a smooth transition.As Store Manager Designate you will work across the Region covering a variety of stores supporting the store managementteams, covering absences, addressing particular challenges and working with new store openings. You will need to beflexible and able to make a quick impact. The aim will be to move you into a suitable store on a permanent basis when theopportunity arrives by which time you will have gained a wealth of experience.The aim in each store is to achieve the following: * Maximise Sales * Provide excellent Customer Service * Achieve excellent presentation standards * Be the leading Pet Care Authority * Live the Company Values Youll be responsible for ensuring the store exceeds its sales targets and overseeing matters of security and cash and banking so that we can protect the profits. Youll already know about customer service but you will be expected to make sure thats the first thing on your teams mind. Of course the care of pets is what we are all about and the fish, birds and small animals need as much care and attention as our customers and staff! They say never work with children or animals but we believe that is why we have so much fun. On a regional level you could be a mentor to one of the management trainees or manage a Centre of Excellence.
