ROLE PROFILE::Working for this market leading IT Services and Technology Company you will work as a Software Development Manager with responsibility for delivering real-time embedded software for a family of products. Managing a group of 50 Software Engineers and Team Leaders, you will work of multiple, simultaneous programmes with cost centres of circa GBP 3.5 million per annum. Specific projects will be delivered in a C++ development environment, under ISO9001, TickIT and CMM quality / process standards.COMMERCIAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE::To be considered for this role, suitable candidates are likely to have a relevant degree and at least 5 years solid commercial experience of Software Project Management. Your skills and experience will also include;- Use of MS Project or similar. Experience of EVM is desirable.- A good understanding of current and emerging software development processes, methodologies and tools.- Principles and practices of software configuration management. Experience of ClearCase is desirable.- Good knowledge of object-oriented design, using UML- Able to think strategically, to set and manage the long-term goals for the group.- Able to organise, lead and motivate the Software Development group.- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of plans, estimates and schedules.- Responsive to changes and able to resolve and prioritise conflicting goals.- Able to work effectively with senior managers and peers in a complex multi-discipline, multi-programme environment.
