Description:

As a professional software developer, ideally with 3-5 years experience, you will be working within the SoftwareDevelopment Team in Cambridgeshire.Working with other developers and development teams, as well as the test and technical publication teams, you will helpto specify, design, and implement the next-generation of Company technologies and customer solutions. This will includenew features for web based components of the Company's Presentation server, and integration of those components withothers in the Company Access Suite, as well as 3rd party technologies (e.g. authentication systems).As a lead developer, your role will include responsibility for supervising a small number of developers and providingthem with technical mentoring.In addition this role involves dealing with third level product support and maintenance, working with the Company supportorganization, customers, and partners, to reproduce and fix bugs, and provide general technical advice.Specific Job Requirements: Analysis of requirements Functional Specification Design Specification Implementation/Coding Unit Test Specification and Testing Adhering to Engineering formal/informal processes Interaction with other Engineering departments, across the globe. Interaction with other departments (e.g. Product Marketing, Sales, Support) Ability to work in a team and supervise a small number of developersEssential Computer Science degree or similar (ideally 2.1 or better) 3 or more years of professional software development experience 1 or more year of commercial experience of web application development on Microsoft .NET and/or Java platforms usingthe C# .NET and/or Java programming languages. Object Oriented Design and ProgrammingKnowledge and/or experience in some of the following are preferred: Proven ability or experience of team leading Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Working knowledge of Web Servers e.g. IIS, Apache and servlet engines, e.g. Tomcat. .NET WinForms Java SWING and AWT JUnit or other unit testing tools Ant XML C and C++ .NET Platform Invocation Services UML Multi-threaded programming COM, COM+, DCOM, ActiveX 2-factor, Smart Card, and certificate-based authentication systems Directory programming (Active Directory, Novell) using LDAP/ADSI/JNDI Oracle and/or SQL Server development using .NET and/or Java (JDBC) TCP/IP Sockets, HTTP Microsoft Project and Project Server Linux/UNIX Server software stress and scalability testing and tuning
