Responsible for: Vessels Engineers and DesignersJob Objectives:We require a Senior Vessels Engineer to work in the Piping and Mechanical Engineering Department, to the Department Head.The successful candidate will be capable of concept design, detailed design and design of modifications to existingVessels.Skills, Knowledge and Special Attributes Needed for this Position:Degree qualified with seven years experience. Should possess a working knowledge of ASME VIII, BS PD5000 and BS EN 13445.A working knowledge of fabrication and installation techniques is essential.Other Matters:Experience of Finite element analysis for equipment and components outside the range of the design codes includingstatic, non-linear, thermal and seismic analysis using the ANSYS finite element analysis program.Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:Prepare manhour and merchant account estimates.Plan and develop work packages.Supervise a team of engineers and designers.Range and Scope of Activities:Responsibilities would include preparation of specifications, calculations, general arrangement drawings, selection ofmaterials and equipment, attendance of hazop and liaison both internally and with clients and sub-contractors.Nature of Problems and Solving them:Any problems associated with the design and installation of Vessels, Tanks and Heat Exchangers. Candidate must have theexpertise to resolve all such problems independently.Level of Discretion:Authority to make most functional decisions without reference to others.Impact:Lead expert in the field, directly importing the quality and standard of services offered to clients.Communication:Needs skills to communicate accurately and appropriately with clients within project team with equipment suppliers andwith peers and manager.
