RoleAbility to manage projects from inception to completion; undertake general and specialist field surveys (including PhaseI (ecologist position)/ extended Phase I (senior position)); write concise high quality reports; provide specialist inputto EIA (eg. protected species, ornithological, botanical); write proposals.Work may involve fieldwork during evenings/early morning and staying away from base for a few days at a time.Key CompetenciesGeneral: clean driving licence, able to undertake field work on a variety of types and sizes of site, basic IT skills,highly motivated, willing to work either as part of team or alone.Graduate: appropriate degree and evidence of interest (eg. work experience/voluntary work), enthusiastic and hardworkingSenior: approx 3 years relevant experience following appropriate degree, preferably with sound surveying skills andbasic knowledge of current legislationPrincipal: sound academic background plus 5 years or more of relevant experience, preferably with some of this in theconsultancy field; sound surveying skills, knowledgeable about a broad range of ecological issues and currentlegislation; experience of developing mitigation strategies and DEFRA licensed work
