Senior CAD Technician London Permanent Salary Neg.Our Client requires a Senior CAD Technician wtih a minimum of 10 years experience as a civil engineering technician andbe a competent user of AutoCAD. Steelwork detailing skills is a must. RC detailing skills are also desirable. The workwill involve small and large scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects including bridge engineering, somehighway and drainage design, working within our Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Group. The candidate must bewilling to carry out inspections and make site visits. We are looking for someone who can see beyond the CAD technicianrole, should be willing to get involved with technical aspects of projects and participate in the team activities. He/Shewill be encouraged to become an incorporated member of the ICE. Opportunities will be made available for this person tomove on to Engineer/Senior Engineer level in due course.The key requirements of a Senior CAD Technician are: Satisfactorily completed or currently undertaking a recognised training programme with at least 10 years relevant workexperience Good computer and IT skills Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients. Confident, proactive character, ability to take the lead in challenging situations. Experience of working on a one to one basis and in team working situationsThe role/responsibilities for this role are: Ability to communicate technical subjects Undertake drawing work including general arrangements and detailing for civil and structural projects Assist in the development of systems and procedures to ensure that the CAD System is used effectively. Provide guidance and advice to design engineers and technicians on the planning and management of advanced CADtechniques. Prepare technical schedules Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of theclient are achieved. Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients best interests and thatCompany policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc. Be able to inspection of construction works and make visit to construction sites and off site fabrication facilities Be able to write inspection reports: should be familiar with Microsoft WordRef: 0511-28
