Our client based in Cambridge but with coverage worldwide is currently seeking two talented Senior software developers tojoin their team - with C and Unix primarily and some C++ and Unix would be ideal. The ideal candidates will be able towork as part of a team or on individual projects. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growingteam within an exciting growth industry. Requirements Good working knowledge of system-level C-programming in aUNIX/Linux environment, and reasonable knowledge of C++ Experience of socket-level network programming and knowledgeaboutnetwork protocols Ability to function well in a small team, requiring self-motivation and the ability to work well underpressure Creative problem solver A finisher who can deliver working/debugged code in a timely manner Bright - thesuccessful candidate will probably have a 2:1 or 1st in Computer Science (or similar discipline) from a top universityand a grade A in A-Level maths 2+ years experience of software development in a commercial environment Ability to talk totechnical customers Appreciation of scalability and performance in system design Technical curiosity and an interest innetworking and broadband applicationsUseful Detailed knowledge of low-level networking (E.g. detailed understanding of TCP/IP) Experience of writinghigh-performance network server applicationsPerl programming Low-level Linux/UNIX knowledge (e.g. kernel development) Experience of user interface design Knowledgeof server and network hardware configuration (e.g. Cisco IOS) Experience of product life-cycle from design throughtesting and support MySQL programmingSalary and benefits Excellent salary commensurate with experience and skill set 6% Contributory pension 25 days annualholiday Private medical care Comprehensive life insurance (x4 salary) Travel insurance Share option scheme
