Description:

My client, a large, successful and very well established organisation, is looking for an expert level UNIX (AIX) Systems Administrator / Operations Support Analyst to mentor an existing team, over and above the standard support and administration role. The candidate will take responsibility for day-to-day administration and operation support including backups and restores, SW/HW monitoring, PTF Management, AIX software installation/maintenance using NIM, SW/HW upgrades and troubleshooting and diagnosis. The successful candidate will have a number of years experience with AIX 5.2 & 5.3, AIX LVM and TCP/IP, AIX NIM, pSeries Hardware including IBM Disk and Tape Storage and Tivoli Sotrage Manager experience. Desirable skills might include AIX Partitioning, Tivoli Suites, IBM Websphere MQ Series, SAN, HACMP, DB2, Experience with other Unix Flavours, iSeries hardware / OS400 (i5) Admin and Support. Although the position will be working within a shift environment, this particular position will be based Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Position based in Hull.
