GovernmentPurpose of the Job: Lead in the provision of the risk management, project governance and efficiency reporting processPrincipal Accountabilities: To support the Chief Accountant (Planning and Governance) in the financial elements of the business planning processTo supervise the quarterly risk management processTo assist the senior management team in review of their risk register and risk mapTo assist in periodic reviews on expenditure to ensure that projects are authorised and expended in accordance to project governance guidelinesTo assist in managing to report against agreed targets To support the development of business casesNature of work: Business Planning: Coordinate prompt responses to all questions (internal and external) on business planning issues in particular those relating to Investment ProgrammeAssisting in the quarterly refresh of the Investment Programme, involving strategy directorate in the event of any material changes to the budget throughout the yearProvide input to he first six years of the business planProject GovernanceRisk ManagementBusiness CasesKey decision-making processSupervision of risk management, project governance and efficiency reporting processesKnowledge, Skills, ExperienceQualified CCAB accountant or equivalentSound experience of budgeting, accounting, forecasting and resource allocation in a devolved organisationProject monitoringReporting and financial management in accordance with varied compliance obligationsExcellent spreadsheet and work skills (MS Office)
