MissionTo provide a secretarial service to aid the smooth operationof the function.Day to day contact with all levels of staff up to seniormanagement with occasional contact at a more senior level.Frequent contact with external customers.Skills Required for the JobMinimum of 4 GCSEs Grade C and above including English andMaths.RSA Stage III Typing.Shorthand 100 wpm.Formal qualification, ie BTEC in Secretarial Studies preferable.Basic understanding of French.3 - 4 years previous clerical experience.PC literate - minimum Word for Windows, Excel and Powerpointor similar package.Main ActivitiesTyping of letters, memos and reports either from manuscriptor dictation.Organising meetings - people and facilities, both internaland external.Maintain an effective filing system.Organise visits.Monitor incoming post and sift/deal where appropriate.Diary management.Handling telephone calls/queries from both internal/externalcolleagues and customers.Organising travel, etc.Other office administration duties when required, ieordering stationery, etc.Preparation of presentation material.Take charge of the local CDS lectern, keeping it in order.Must be a British Citizen. |
