My Client designs, manufactures, tests, supplies, installs, commissions and services fixed continuous gas detectionand/or environmental monitoring systems for four major industry sectors, namely Waste Water, Semiconductor, BuildingManagement Services and Ministry of Defence.JOB SPECIFICATIONNew Business Development ManagerLocationOffice initially for suitable technical training. Then one day a week in the office with the balance visiting clientsthroughout the UK and Ireland and/or working from home if necessary.ReportingDirect to Managing DirectorOverview of Job RoleDevelop and secure new clients, accounts, contracts and orders for systems, installation works and servicing. Search fornew business opportunities in different & existing industry sectors, increase overall UK profile of Pollution Monitors,attend suitable trade exhibitions, exhibit at suitable trade conferences as necessary.Key Areas:Daily :Write quotations for forthcoming servicing and/or purchase items work, log quotations on computer system, diary,telephone customers to chase orders for servicing and purchased items. Review trade magazines and internet for newprojects for systems and/or installation works. Arrange appointments to meet new and existing customers throughout the UKand Ireland. Write quotations for systems and installation. Update diary system on movements. Prepare power pointpresentation for sales meetings. Up date forecast with new order potential.Weekly:Discuss new opportunities with MD and/or discuss technical quotations with Engineering Manager. Review and up date salesbrochures, website etc as necessary.MonthlyAttend monthly meeting with MD and/or Engineering Manager and Operations Manager. Present monthly sales figures,estimated sales figures for the following month/quarter. Discuss new business opportunities.Candidate Profile:Ideal candidate will have either a proven sales background in a technical industry selling instrumentation or businesssolutions, or a desire to switch from being a project manager, technical servicing engineer or similar role into a salesfunction.The successful applicant will be self motivated, be responsible for producing their own sales quotations and therefore becomputer literate in word, excel, access, power point and/or autocad.The successful applicant must be able to diversify between dealing with Semiconductor Lab technicians, facility managersin a clean office environment, to dealing with project managers and construction workers on a sewage treatment works. Therole would be very diverse but with a common theme to increase the sales of Pollution Monitors in existing and/or newindustries/fields. Whilst this role will be target driven, our systems are bespoke and therefore no set price list isprovided and the successful applicant will have the freedom to set pricing subject to a minimum base level of grossprofit margin.Within the first 12 months the successful application would be targeted to increase the new customer base by 1 new clienta month, and an overall increase in sales turnover by at least GBP 100,000 of new orders not already know to them.Training would be provided on their technical solutions. New ideas on ways of increasing the sales and/or profitabilitywould be supported.Driving Licence:The successful application must have a clean driving licence.SalaryGBP 20,000 - GBP 25,000 based on experience for a service engineer or project manager wishing to divert into sales.GBP 25,000 - GBP 30,000 based on experience for a proven technical sales person.Bonus:Will be provided, details would be outlined with offer and would be based upon candidates experience.
