Description:

Our client is a world leader in the supply of sensor support systems and instrumentation for commercial and military applications. They are recruiting a Sales Director to maximise, through the achievement of exceeding annual sales goals, sales revenues derived from their product range and to contribute, by the provision of market intelligence, to the development of the company marketing plan.Knowledge and Experience requirements:- Excellent track record of developing new business and growing established revenue streams.- Minimum of seven years' experience of selling gained with electro -mechanical products and/or electro optic products. Defence industry experience an advantage.- The commercial awareness and experience to manage and win complex bids.- Account management/client development. Ability to create and develop new relationships with potential partners and customers. - Experience of working in both internationally established companies as well as SME's would be an added advantage.- European languages - ideally French and German (Not essential)The position reports to the Sales and Marketing Director and is responsible for Two regional Sales Managers and the Technical Sales Support Manager. Principle Accountabilities:- To lead, support and direct the sales team- To deputise for the Sales & Marketing Director as necessary.- Achieve or exceed annual sales targets by the acquisition of orders from both new as well as existing clients.- Create and maintain a pipeline of new business.- The active review of trends, threats and opportunities in the company's military systems market and the communication of these in a timely manner with proposals for appropriate courses of action.- Organisation of prospect meetings and visits, accurately presenting the company's capabilities and negotiating contracts, within agreed guidelines.- Provide quotations and responses to bid requests, ensuring customers requirements are clearly understood by other departments in the company as well as ensuring compliance with the company's quality system. - Assist in the development of realistic marketing plans in support of sales objectives.- Manage promotional activities, including attendance at exhibitions in accordance with an agreed budget.- Develop and present high quality presentations and proposals that outline the company's capabilities.- Keep accurate records of all sales activity using an Access based customer records system.Personal Qualities:Self sufficient and results orientedStrong commercial and strategic acumenExcellent leadership and communication skillsThe ability to quickly establish credibility
