To provide the Area Safety Manager with professional safety support to ensure the implementation of Corporate and West Coast standards, procedures and systems. To advise and provide technical support to Area Delivery Team members e.g. Programme, Project, Delivery, Commercial, Procurement, and Construction Managers to ensure that contract and project safety requirements are met. The post holder will work directly for the HSEQ Manager North West. 1. Liasing with individual Project Managers to ensure that adequate safety arrangements are established with each project. 2. Liase with individual Project Managers/Engineering Managers to ensure that the requirements of the Construction Design and Management Regulations are met for each project eg designers risk assessments, construction risk assessments etc. 3. Provide technical safety support during audits, Alliance and Contractor teams working on the area project portfolio. 4. Assist the Area Safety Manager in the development and implementation of effective safety management arrangements to delivery the programme requirements. 5. Liaise with Contractors, Alliances, HMRI and outside safety agencies as required by individual projects. 6. Monitor all occupational health and safety issues pertinent to the delivery team and its personnel. 7. Monitor compliance against documented safety requirements through a systematic regime of compliance audit, performance monitoring, and front-line inspections. 8. Assist in the review of method statements for activities undertaken on WCRM. 9. Assist project teams in the preparation, review and approval of project safety case documentation (e.g. Pre tender Health and Safety Plans, Construction Health and Safety Plans and Project Safety Strategies. 10. Lead/direct investigations following incidents and accidents to identify root cause and ensure that resultant recommendations are actioned. Ensure that satisfactory reporting has been undertaken PIMS process and statutory requirements. 11. Develop and deliver suitable safety induction and briefing information for use within the sub area 12.
