Our client is a major supplier of Bluetooth devices and is seeking top quality candidates for all their technicalpositions.Applicants must be willing to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK if requestedOur client is a successful and growing Fabless semiconductor company, with a customer base that is expanding and alreadyincludes large and demanding companies from sectors such as automotive, PCs and mobile communications.This necessitates the company having the following key activities:1) A robust and effective Quality Management System;2) Good relationships with customers and suppliers, including reviewing and controlling essential documentation, as wellas managing change control.3) Strict control over our manufacturing suppliers, to ensure product achieves the highest levels of quality andreliability that our customers demand.To this end, a Quality Engineer is now required, with the ability to sustain and improve a top-class quality systemacross the company.You will be responsible for:a) Facilitate significant improvement of our ISO9001:2000 certified Quality System by developing quality methods andprocesses throughout the organisation and helping to map processes, generate flowcharts and document procedures.b) Perform Quality System training across the organisation, including induction for new employees.c) Manage the company's audit program, including performing audits to ISO9001 standard both internally and at oursuppliers. Assist customer audits. Software and module manufacturing are playing an ever more important part in ourportfolio and system/audit coverage of these expanding areas needs strengthening.d) Encourage the use of relevant Quality/Business objectives throughout the business in order to drive continuousimprovement.e) Perform reviews of customer specifications, in order to ensure that we will comply with all requirements duringmanufacturing and shipping of product. Respond to customer questionnaires and generate quality documentation as required.f) Support change control for our products. This will involve convening and chairing Change Review Boards, helping definequalification requirements based upon the company and customers needs and authorising change release.g) Attend, facilitate and approve Design Reviews and Software Release Boards as the Quality representative.h) Support other aspects of the Quality System function, such as monitoring customer satisfaction, control ofsubcontractors and ensuring customer needs are satisfied.This position will involve some foreign travel.Experience of working within and auditing of an ISO9001 approved quality system is required and experience of thesemiconductor industry is preferred. Knowledge of TS16949 would be useful.
