Description:

Management of the procurement department on a day today basis.Ensuring all materials are procured at the correct price in conjunction with reviewing these rates against the allowedtender rates.Must ensure all materials purchased are of a suitablequality/specification for the intended purpose.Liase with suppliers regarding current/future material rateswhile keeping a close eye on current/future trends.Improving the supplier database and locating possiblesuppliers offering more competitive deals.Keep up to date with new products entering the market place.Ensuring all purchase order are formatted in the correct manner prior to issue.Liasing with other departments in a pro-active manner toachieve a smooth flow of information i.e. estimating/quantitysurveying etc.Expedite orders to ensure the required delivery dates are met.Informing all parties of any problems/delays in obtainingmaterial.Reporting to line management with financial reconciliation of material purchasing detailingprofit/loss accounts against the allowed costings.As a conclusion the purchasing manager will have overall control of all material procurement within the company.
