Personal qualities:-Young graduate with at least 5 yrs. Post qualification experience gained in the construction industry and major food /clothing retailers, good communications skills, friendly approach, good team player, with a good knowledge of the Food /Clothing retail business, wiliness to stay away from home and travel throughout the UK, have the ability to work on theirown with little or no supervision, have good project management skills and have a good understanding of constructionprinciples.Responsibilities:-Day to day management of construction biased projects from inception through to final account, (typically majorrefurbishments / extensions / new builds of superstores / extras and distribution centres values from GBP 500K 10M.)Liaising with Store Management, Client internal departments, Statutory Authorities.Co-ordinating various contractors, suppliers, consultants, various Client departments and retail store management teammembers throughout a the various project stages.Advise on the most appropriate procurement route.Establishing Clients brief.Chairing various project related meetings, (Briefing, design, progress, management.)Produce various progress / cost reports and programme updates.Negotiate with consultants, contractors and suppliers to achieve best value.Undertake initial site surveys.Ensure the Clients interests are protected at all times by making sure all statutory requirements are met.Ensure works are complete and handed over to the client and that all snags / outstanding works are completed and signedoff.
