OverviewMy client is the market-leading marketing intelligence solution for improving sales performance in high volumedistribution markets. This is achieved by analysing customer buying patterns and delivering compelling messages tosalesmen which direct them to the best sales opportunities in their territories. In order for my client to work it mustbe populated with customer ERP data that may come from multiple sources. It must be configured to provide a cascade ofinformation throughout the customers sales organisation. It must be set up to enable sales people to receive theirinformation wherever they are based and meeting customers.Technical Project Manager (TPM)The TPM is responsible for the successful implementation of software from pre-sale feasibility and scoping topost-implementation review. They will manage the project and the day-to-day customer relationship throughout this period.They will specify the solution that will be implemented, design the system to meet this spec and manage other consultantswho are performing technical and training tasks.The role requires strong project management and excellent communication skills. The TPM will have strong commercialawareness, with an appreciation of sales and implementation processes in the software industry and the ability tonegotiate with customers and manage customer expectations, both pre- and post-sale. The TPM will be able to understandthe aims and problems of sales management and translate these into a solution that can be implemented in the softwareThe TPM.will plan the project and agree commitments with all parties (company, customer and partner organisations). Theywill engage resources, track progress and manage risks and issues, The TPM will perform some application configurationand testing. Typically the TPM will manage several projects of varying sizes at the same time.Technical skillsetsThe successful candidate will also be technically adept in the following areas: Knowledge of accounting system structures and functionality: General Ledger, Sales Ledger, Nominal Ledger, Stockmovements and customer allocation tables Solid understanding of database design (structures and functionality) with in-depth practical experience of SQL. MS SQL Server version 7 and 2000 server (set-up and configuration) and client tools Excel, Access and MS Query scripting File transfer protocols including FTP, KERMIT Experience of CRM/SFA systems Experience using MS Project (or similar) to plan and track multiple parallel projectsIf possible the successful candidate should have had exposure to one or more of the following (or similar) applications: SAP, NaVision, Cognos, Business Objects, JBA, BPCS, Siebel, Pivotal, Goldmine, Sales Logix, Tetra Chameleon & CS3,Sage, Pegasus, XKO, KerridgeIn addition to a strong project management background, excellent commercial awareness and an exceptional customer focus,the successful candidate will be an energetic, career-minded self-starter who is seeking an opportunity where they caninfluence and build the customer focus of an expanding organisation.
