Our client is a leading measurement based consultancy based in Cheshire, established in 1976, specialising in structuralmonitoring, machinery condition monitoring and noise & vibration services. They operate an ISO 9001 approved QA systemand apply a strict health and safety policy.This is a particularly exciting phase in the development of the company, following acquisition by alarger groupA steady increase in workload has created a vacancy for a Project Engineer to work on a variety of interesting projectswithin the Special Projects Group.The Special Projects division provides structural and process monitoring services, including: on-site measurements ofstress, load and displacement and vibration; fatigue assessments; structural integrity monitoring; data acquisition andanalysis systems; and acoustic emission monitoring including leak detection services.Projects frequently involve on-site measurements of stresses, loads, displacements and accelerations, using computerbased data acquisition systems and data loggers, followed by the engineering assessment of the data. Projects vary fromshort-term trouble-shooting services to installation of permanent systems.This is an extremely interesting and demanding position requiring global involvement in projects from initial technicalenquiry through to project completion. Projects frequently involve a considerable amount of travelling and short periodsof time spent away from home, occasionally including international travel.The successful applicant will ideally have a degree in an engineering related subject, preferably with some relevantindustrial experience, will have good written and organisational abilities, hold a full driving license and will haveexperience in the application and use of modern instrumentation and measurement techniques applied to structuralmonitoring applications. Experience in the on-site installation of strain gauges would be preferred, although specialisttraining could be provided. Experience in the Civil and Rail, Industries would be advantageous.Excellent salary package, including company car option and re-location assistance will be negotiable depending upon age,qualifications and experience. |
