PROJECT APPLICATION ENGINEER - South HantsSalary: 28k to 30k + benefitsOur client design and manufacture complex solutions to customers throughout the world in broadcast television programproduction and post production.Principal Purpose of JobThis technical role is designed to provide support and commissioning to aid customers, account management and the globalsales channels with delivery of projects.Main Functions and Responsibilities1. Work with Application Sales Executives representatives to define the most appropriate solution(s) for customersworkflow requirements involving the Company and other vendor equipment where appropriate. Including Liaison withcustomers and customer site visits to ascertain their operational requirements.2. Work with Application Sales Executives to complete the integration of the Company and third party equipment frompre-sales through to commissioning. Including: Specification of customer requirements Scripting of custom configurations in XML and SNMP for Integration of other vendor devices Configuration of the Company's software tools On site system commissioning3. Testing of hardware and software (Embedded & Application).4. Respond to enquiries / issues from customers, channels and relevant corporate function within the Company.5. Refer post-sales issues to Customer Care / Service and internally progress customer issues that have not been resolvedsatisfactorily.6. Where appropriate, complete relevant product training for both customers and internal sales / team.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Degree education- Knowledge of SNMP and XML- A good technical aptitude with knowledge of Network hardware, using TCP/IP & Microsoft operating systems- Technical knowledge / experience within the professional broadcast or telecomms area would be advantageous althoughother related disciplines will be considered- Experience of file based broadcast workflow is desirable- Willingness to travel globally- Project Management- Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines- Good interpersonal skills required as the role includes a strong customer facing element, experience in a customerfacing role would be an advantage- Ability to work well unsupervised but also to actively participate as part of the project teamNo specific programming experience required but an ability to demonstrate an understanding of programming principles willbe requiredFull driving license and full passport necessary as there will be a certain degree of domestic and foreign travel in thisrole
