PRODUCT MANAGER ~ HELICOPTER ENGINESMy Client specialises in the manufacture and maintenance of gas turbine engines for the aerospace industry.Job DescriptionReporting to: Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul General ManagerMain responsibilities:Provide leadership to the Helicopter Engine Product Team and ensure that staff are effectively managed, motivated anddeveloped.Deliver customer satisfaction through the achievement of quality, cost and delivery targets and by developing strongcustomer relationships.Champion and facilitate lean / continuous improvement initiatives to improve business performance and customersatisfaction.Own and manage all customer-touching processes (commercial, logistics, production and technical support) within theProduct Team from initial customer contact to invoice settlement.Main tasks:Participate in the development and implementation of the business strategy for the MRO division.Participate in the preparation of the 5-year business plan, annual budget and sales forecasts for helicopter engineprograms.Provide overall management and supervision of the Helicopter Engine Repair Centre and Maintenance Centre.Perform operational planning (capacity and resources) to achieve the planned engine output and budgeted financialperformance each year.Monitor key performance indicators (including quality, cost and delivery) and take action as required to correct anyperformance deficiencies.Establish and implement customized support plans for key customers.Clearly define any product/service problems as perceived by the customer and respond in a timely manner with a solutionin the balanced interest of the company and the customer.Act as the interface between the company and their sister company's Engineering & Operator Support for the earlyidentification of product performance issues and coordinate any follow-up actions.Ensure that the Helicopter Engine Product Team operates in accordance with the procedures and processes contained withinthe Company Operating System (COS) and EASA Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).Respond to AOG requests from customers in a timely and appropriate manner.Identify opportunities for increased quality, productivity, and profitability.Analyze commercial performance of helicopter engine product lines and identify opportunities for pricing changes andperformance improvements.Establish a team environment of learning, engagement, and continuous improvement through effective leadership ofHelicopter Engine Product Team staff.Interview and select staff with the appropriate qualifications, skills, experience, and attitude to meet companyrequirements.Carry out appraisals of assigned team members and regularly review performance, along with training and developmentneeds.Participate in the MRO Safety Group and proactively address any environmental, health and safety concerns or issues.In conjunction with the New Product Introduction team, implement the capability for new helicopter engine product lines.Complete any other tasks as may be reasonably directed by the MRO General Manager.Key result areas:Charged with overall responsibility for customer satisfaction.Achieving quality, cost and delivery targets.Profitability of helicopter engine product lines.High level of engagement from Helicopter Engine Product Team staff.Successful implementation of new product line capability.Minimizing environmental, health and safety incident rate.Define, map and improve accountable processes; collect and analyse performance metrics.Compliance with statutory requirements and regulations.Competencies & attributes required:Thorough understanding of Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul business processes and supply chains.Must have working knowledge of gas turbine engines.Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and positively influence others.Team player with demonstrated coaching skills.Commercially astute and financially aware.Good understanding of critical success factors for a MRO business.Excellent communication skills and ability to develop influential relationships with customers, suppliers and businesspartners.High level of organizational ability and results orientated (financial and non-financial).Demonstrated project and operations management skills.Working knowledge and experience in application of TSP, MCO and SBH contracts.Ability to act as a role model and mentor for Helicopter Engine Product Team staff.Commitment to continuous improvement and ability to foster an improvement culture.Professional approach with high level of integrity and ability to lead by example.Experience in an operations or product management role within an aerospace MRO environment would be highly advantageous.We offer an exceptional working environment, competitive rates of pay, 25 days annual holiday + statutory holidays,pension and flexi-working.
