Company is a large manufacturer of steel office storage systems in the UK.Section/department: ManufacturingHours: 39Reporting to:Production Engineer ManagerMain duties & responsibilities: Liaise with production over product development needs (mechanics, practicalities,feasibility) Produce design drawings using CAD software Liaise with production and suppliers to create plan forintroduction of new/modified product Project manage the introduction of new/modified product, and remain hands-onthroughout the prototype assembly stagePersonal attributes: Excellent organisational and planning skills. A perfectionist, with strong attention to detail. Aproblem-solver, able to think 'outside the box'.Good interpersonal and communication skillsEducation & qualifications: ONC in mechanical engineering Knowledge, skills & experience: 2-3 years' experience ofsheet metal manufacturing processes, possibly gained as an apprentice in a sub-contracting environment. This will includean understanding of sheet metal development.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Ability to identify costreduction opportunities Negotiating skills. Experience of Auto CAD.
