Description:

PRINCIPAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Carry out a variety of analytical and leading edge R&D related tasks and problem solving activities related to onboarddigital processing within satellite processors for communications, navigation and science missions. Systems level analysis of satellite payloads for communications, navigation and science missions. Design and development of complex DSP algorithms and architectures. Simulation of complex digital processing systems. Real time hardware prototyping of complex DSP processing systems implemented on a range of FPGAs. Support to ASIC development and flight programmes. Communicate problems, solutions and detailed knowledge to peers and to other levels in an effective manner. With guidance from senior engineers, gather and share information at a technical level with customers, suppliers,institutions and partners.EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDEssential A good degree is important - (2.1 or above) in physics, mathematics or electronic engineering from Oxbridge or aleading university, with consistent academic record (A Level grade A). PhD nice but not essential. Upto 5 years experience. Good analytical skills is essential to this role. Knowledge of ASIC, DSP, FPGA (field programmable gate arrays) very useful. An enthusiasm and aptitude for problem solving. Good report writing skills, good communicating skills. Need an aptitude for use of software tools and software development to undertake work in C/ C , GUI for controllingFPGA demonstrators.
