: Our client is one of the leading contractors in the whole of Europe specialising in the rail sector. They work on a variety of rail related projects, including track, signalling, bridges, tunnels and stations. Currently they employ in excess of 30,000 in the whole of the UK with an annual turnover of almost GBP 4 billion. Due to superb management, excellent business practices and intensive growth strategies, they are currently recruiting for a Principal Programme Planner to be based out of their city office. Job Purpose To lead the planning function within their programme team, providing guidance and direction to other planners, and ensuring quality and consistency of all planning and associated reporting. Key Accountabilities - Provide leadership and direction to planners in national and regional teams. - Ensure all planning activities within the programme are undertaken in line with the quality standards and consistent across the board. - Ensure all plans are integrated into Territory and regional plans. - Review resource availability to support plans and take action to address resource shortfalls and risks to delivery. - Lead the compilation of cost and resource forecast data in support of the business plan. - Ensure that planning resources are deployed to best effect within the programme team. - Ensure that a high service standard is delivered in supporting the national programme/regional teams. You will need at least 7 years commercial experience with at least 5 in project planning and more recently have been managing a team of project planners.
