The Role:Working within a small, friendly but dynamic Implementation team, you'll be responsible for the selection and validationof new transmission equipment for use in the Orange network.Proficient in 2G and 3G technologies, you will be responsible for the supervision of Senior Engineers within the team.You'll also be responsible for liaising with Transmission Strategy team to develop and upgrade transmission systemarchitecture across our network.Must Haves:To be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate the following:- Degree in relevant scientific discipline or significant telecom experience, (including radio access transmission).- Project management and cost benefit analysis skills.- Knowledge of ATM/SDH/PDH technologies.Nice to Haves:It would be great if you also had the following:- Knowledge of Nokia GERAN/UTRAN transmission feature.- Experience of personnel management.- Experience of vendor management.The Department:Radio Engineering sits within the Technical Directorate to act as the authority for the introduction of new hardware andsoftware into the Orange radio access network. Radio Engineering responsibilities include new vendor / productassessment, radio base station performance and feature testing, handset testing, site support equipment design,verification testing and introduction.Location: Bristol
