Company Activities:The organisation operates in three main areas - Marine Systems, Acoustic/Sonar Systems and Life Science, and is engaged in design, development, production engineering, process control and marketing of a wide range of individual sensors and distributed instrument systems.Job Purpose:Aid Technical director in development of new products and continual improvement of existing products.Key Tasks/Abilities:Candidate will take a primary role in providing technical input to bid proposals across all fields of the companies operation.Candidate may be required to technically lead a small team of engineers to take projects through from conception to prototyping.Candidate must have a sound knowledge of both analogue and digital electronics including mixed signal design.Experience of DSP's, FPGA's and microprocessor design is required.Candidate may be involved in all aspects of design from outline of specification requirements, schematic capture, printed circuit board layout, test/verification through to involvement with prototyping designs.An understanding of sonar theory or marine applications would also be of advantage.Familiarity of Linux and PC Hardware would also be of benefit.Experience of assembler and/or embedded 'C' would also be an advantage.Experience of instrument and system design would be of benefit.Minimum Upper 2nd Class Electronic Engineering Degree Experience Desired: Ten years experience
