Type of work undertaken by the groupThe Group specialises in the design and development of electronic systems and electrical products serving a range ofindustry sectors including: mechatronics, high volume consumer products, automotive and industrial drive products. Themain areas of expertise within this multidisciplinary group are analogue electronics, mixed signal electronics, motor anddrive technology, advanced control systems, design power electronics and mechanical engineering.Specific responsibilitiesIn this role you will be responsible for:Project management – leadership of the team and the technologyProduct innovation and concept generationBoth preparing and working from specifications for analogue functions taking the wider view of the product andapplication requirements and converting them into electronic solutionsDefining the most suitable system design/architecture to meet the specificationWorking at all times as part of a close-knit multi-disciplinary project team focussed on delivering the design solutionto our clientParticipating in sales meetings with clients to understand their requirements and demonstrate the Clients capabilityPrepare and contribute to proposals and quotationsMaintaining and developing CAD systems to enhance our development capabilityCreating novel design solutions that will be of particular interest to our clientsIdentifying and pursuing new techniques and circuit solutions for analogue design to maintain the Clients leading edgecapabilityYou will be expected to liaise with others across many engineering disciplines and take a leadership role in working withclients.Minimum requirementsTo meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent first degree or post graduate degree inelectronic engineering or a related discipline and between 5 - 10 years of relevant experience. Experience of some of thefollowing would be advantageous:Analogue electronics- low level signal sensor designPower- switching circuits- power supplies- motor control- thermal managementSystems- embedded software- EMC- mixed signal design- design for high volume production |
