The precision machining and manufacture of components.Responsibilities The post holder must be proficient in the use of most types of machine tool and be capable of working to closetolerances. The post holder must be capable of precision fitting and assembly work including hard and soft soldering techniques. The post holder must be able to work from formal drawings and procedures or sketches and on occasions and ifappropriate,from verbal instructions. The post holder will be required to become familiar with the procedures and working practices operated within theTechnical Support facilities and with warhead related components. A methodical approach to work is required.QualificationsTo have served an engineering apprenticeship and practical experience.KnowledgeA good understanding of mechanical engineering, materials and operations.ExperienceSound mechanical engineering background.SkillsMachining/fitting skills.Computer literate in Microsoft Office products.BehavioursAble to develop innovative solutions to problems taking account of technical requirements.Able to communicate effectively to all levels.Well motivated and able to motivate others.Key accountabilitiesTo support the Technical Facilities Supervisor in meeting the requirements of the following programmes: Warhead Development Centre training Threat Reduction Division training and exercises In-service Support trials Successor capability trials
