OVERALL AIM: Day to day supervision and installation of data and voice infrastructure on-site.SPECIFIC DUTIES: The supervision and mentoring of Junior Network Services Engineers.To ensure that the company and clients Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times. On-site liaison withcustomers.Communication and escalation of issues to appropriate responsible person, generally this will be NS Teamleader, ProjectManager / Engineer or NS Manager.Establishing most effective cable routes and pulling positions.Installation of containment to include trunking, plastic and metal conduit and tray work.Installation and test of CAT5e, CAT6, voice and fibre in line with appropriate industry and or manufacturer standards.To ensure that all relevant documentation is completed.Responsible for tools and equipment.THE PERSON: Minimum 3years relevant industry experience.Time served electrical or mechanical fitting background would be sound basis with some relevant industry experience.Relevant qualification or certification to install specific manufacturers hardware i.e. Molex, Krone, Avaya, AMP e.t.c.Person needs to be generally quite fit as work can be demanding and work at heights can be common.Flexible working hours and travel away from home is common.High access vehicle operating licence would be beneficial.CSCS Card or other H&S training would be beneficial.Qualified 1st aider would be beneficial.Security clearance would be beneficial such as SC.Clean Driving Licence.
