Description:

British Transport Police is the national police force for the railways providing a policing service to rail operators,their staff and passengers throughout Great Britain.We are currently setting up a new Communications Team,covering internal & external communications, based in London,Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester & Glasgow.The main duties of the role include:* Implementing internal & external strategy on an Area basis* Producing effective communication for the assigned British Transport Police Area, ensuring it is addressed at alllevels* Representing British Transport Police in the public and other arenas as appropriate, dealing with communication aspectsof events & issues* Implementing pro-active & innovative internal & external communications strategies* Promoting British Transport Police positively through the press & other media* Contributing to developments of e-communications, including development of our intranet & website* Establish effecive working relationships to enable the successful delivery of the communications strategy* Establish effective media networksTo be successful in the role, you will possess solid Communications experience with a large national organisation,demonstrated track record in networking across all areas, strong influencing skills & sound judgement, sensitivity &political awareness.Experience in the police or criminal justice sector would be advantageous.In addition to your salary, we offer you a friendly working environment with a strong commitment to diversity, a pensionscheme, 28 days holiday, childcare vouchers, corporate discounts & an Educational Assistance SchemeIf you have the experience, skills & qualities to undertake this exciting challenge, please forward your C.V. andcovering letter, highlighting key achievements relevant to the role, quoting the job title & reference number
