Description:

The primary purpose of these positions within both the Electrical and Mechanical Systems Engineering teams is to assist in the specification and integration of new electrical and mechanical systems on rolling stock projects. This will include the generation of technical requirement specifications, the review of supplier proposals, and liaison with other engineering functions to ensure the design meets the requirements. The Engineers will also be responsible for identifying and overseeing validation and verification activities to demonstrate compliance of the designs with the technical requirements. They will produce and manage the specification of one or more electrical or mechanical systems for the rolling stock design and manage the integration of one or more electrical or mechanical systems into the rolling stock design.The successful candidates will have significant knowledge of either electrical or mechanical rolling stock systems with experience of system specification and integration into rolling stock design, as well as experience and understanding of both LUL and RGS standards. The ability to communicate engineering issues to people at all levels including non engineering personnel is crucial as is the ability to successfully manage and prioritise workloads in-line with pre-determined deadlines.
