Description:

This world leading manufacturer of electrical connectors, relays and associated components for military, aerospace,industrial applications currently has a vacancy for a Materials Technologist to be reference point within the company formaterials development and the introduction of new materials and processes. This role will involve researchingdevelopments often in the areas of adhesives and potting materials. However, investigation of other materials andassociated processes will also be required. Making this information available to the relevant departments in a formatwhich is readily understood is an important part of this role.The post holder will be required to attend design meetings and actively contribute to the process of new productdevelopment, along with the creation of FMEA's to ensure the prevention, detection and solution of possible faults. Inputwill also be required in respect of Health and Safety guidelines for the safe use of polymers and adhesives throughoutthe company.A degree or relevant experience in either Materials Engineering or Materials Science, along with a proven background inadhesives is necessary, while experience in other materials would be an advantage. As this role involves communicatingboth verbally and in writing at all levels throughout the company excellent communication skills and the ability toanalyse technical information and provide reports in a form easily understood by engineers and managers are extremelyimportant.The successful candidate will be self motivated and pro active, with a hands on approach to investigation and problemsolving, they will be expected to manage their own workload and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.Salary: To GBP 24,000 + benefits
