To ensure optimum flow of material to enable planning, building and shipping of engines in time to meet customerrequirements. Supplier development to support continuous improvement of above process. Inventory management in line withAOP targets, both plant and corporate.Cummins is a world leader in the design and manufacture of Diesel Engines. The Darlington plant supplies engines in themid-power range to over 200 different customers in 40 countries. These engines are used in Automotive, Industrial,Marine, Power Generation, Mining, and Construction and Rail applications. The Darlington Worldwide Technical Centre leadsnew engine platform design and development, from concept to production. Established in 1965, the factory has over 250,000sq ft, has won the Queen's Award for Exports three times and holds the Investor in People certificate. Its vision for thefuture is targeted at five key elements: competitive pricing, shorter lead times, reliable delivery, quality product andresponsive, flexible and easy to deal with as a supplier.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and expedite productive material to meet customer engine demand while meeting AOP and WCT (World ClassTargets) inventory targets.Development & introduction of JIT and Kanban delivery programmes through negotiation with supply base.Provide and promote effective supply chain management through the negotiation and implementation of CumminsOperating Systems (COS) principles and practices.Exercise initiative and resourcefulness in developing cost savingsProvide support in the introduction and development of EDIIdentify, lead and deliver , Supply Chain Improvement projectsEssential Skills:An Engineering /Manufacturing /Business or Economics related degree discipline2-3 years experience in a manufacturing/commercial environment is desirable.Experience of working in a Material Planning environment is preferred and the ablility to demonstrate anunderstanding of the following technical skills:Inventory Management, Supplier Development, Materials Agreements, Expediting, Pull Systems, PackagingConcepts, Transportation, EDI, Cost Reduction, Supplier Managed Inventory and Consignment StockingJob Type: Job Share - 20 hours per week.
