The applicant will provide manufacturing engineering support to Capability Acquisition projects in all areas ofmanufacturing. In particular, supporting the development of new manufacturing technology, continuous improvement, projectmanagement and quality.The candidate must show a good core understanding of materials processing operations and the causeand effect of these operations on aerospace components, this knowledge should be formalised by an appropriatequalification. These processes should include coating, forging, heat treatment, chemical etching, blasting and finishingprocesses.The candidate must also demonstrate the implementation of new manufacturing methods in a structured processfrom concept to production implementation.They will also have a level of understanding of the Manufacturing Engineeringprocess, including the preparation of the requirements of material and document tracability, manufacturing methods anddefinition of raw material and tooling requirements.It would be beneficial if the candidate has experience ofUnigraphics/CAD/CAM. Experience of Mitutoyo CMM programming would be advantageous, as would an understanding of solidmodeling and knowledge of work holding and cutting tools and their application to Aerospace components.It would bebeneficial if the candidate has experience in process improvement projects following the Six Sigma methodology.Candidates should be able to operate across functions, stimulate ideas, communicate them effectively and obtain supportfor their implementation. They should also be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels and demonstrate aflexible & willing attitude. Candidates will also have excellent IT skills and a sound knowledge of aerospace componentsand materials is desirable. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and an excellent team player. |
