: Key Responsibilities Providing technical assistance to other departments in the resolution of any problems on existing products; Continually works to improve the manufacture of Weston's products to eliminate both rework and scrap. Generation/update as required to BOM's /Routers on Weston's ERP system (BaaN). Providing suitable and correct information to enable others to perform their duties effectively (i.e. Toolroom, production staff, machine shop); Preparing/updating new/existing manufacturing documentation and tooling required for product manufacture; Creating process specifications and material purchase specifications; Generating, as appropriate Capital Authorisation requests for plant and tooling; Providing on-going support to the Development Technicians, Productions Operators and processes to ensure economic manufacturing to the correct build standard and process control. Applying knowledge and skill to assist in the introduction of new technology in order to improve quality and productivity Qualifications and Experience Essential ONC / HNC in an Engineering discipline. Understanding and experience of JIT/Kanban, poka-yoke and lean manufacturing techniques. Five years previous experience in a similar role. Desirable Degree qualified in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Previous experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industry would be a distinct advantage.
