Managing Director - South EastSalary: Basic Salary Negotiable + Excellent Executive BenefitsMy client is a recognised leading manufacturer of RF Microwave Connectors, Cables and Assemblies to multiple markets suchTest & Measurement, Telecoms, Defence, Space and the Automotive sector.They are looking for a dynamic and sales focused Managing Director to lead the business through what is an excitingperiod of growth and development.Overall Job DescriptionProfit and Loss responsibility for all of the Company's activities which embraces Sales and Marketing, Operations,Quality and Finance within the UK and the co-ordination of all Sales and Marketing activities in territories outside theUK as defined by Group Board. Working very closely with both internal personnel and external associates to ensure thatthe strategies approved by the Board of Directors are implemented effectively.Responsibilities and Authorisation1. Profit and Loss management of all activities within the contractually defined territories.2. Recommending marketing/sales strategies and establish and implement tactics.3. Reviewing existing sales organisations within the defined territories to ensure that the Company has established andis maintaining an effective sales organisation structure within all territories.4. Reviewing existing communication/operating procedures both within the Company and with its Partners and taking thenecessary actions to ensure that improved procedures/processes are implemented and maintained.5. Keeping up to date on product development programmes within the Partners and co-ordinating technology transfers andeducation programmes.6. Developing new business internationally particularly with the extended European Union.7. Producing and submitting the new order and sales budgets to the Board of Directors, annually for approval, then toupdate and report monthly on company performance.8. Updating the Board of Directors and other key personnel on major opportunities and the actions required to achievesuccess9. Managing the manufacturing facility's value added cable assembly facility such that the facility operates in a fast,flexible manner thus enabling the Company to satisfy demanding customer requirements.10. Ensuring that the Financial, Quality and Personnel functions within the Company operate in accordance with itsprocedures and policies, ISO 9001 and environmental policies.Essential Background & Experience- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.- Have seven to ten years minimum experience in a technical sales/marketing role within the RF and microwave marketsegments within the European Union. Candidates who have sold to multiple markets such as those mentioned above will havea distinct advantage- Five years of supervisory experience and two years minimum successful P&L responsibility for a department orsmall/medium sized company (ie. GBP 4 million to GBP 10 million turnover).- Have excellent communication and team building skills, the ability to make it happen.- Have a hands-on approach to all work activities which will probably derive from someone who has held a relatedengineering/manufacturing management role in the past.- Willing to travel extensively within the European Union and other related territories.Interpersonal RelationshipsThe ability to build excellent interpersonal relationships is required as the Managing Director must pull together allfunctions/business units into a co-ordinated team that not only allows it to be a major force in the RF and microwavemarket places but achieves the objectives and goals of the Company's Partners.
