ESSENTIAL1 A commitment to Residential Child Care as apositive choice for children/young people and theprinciples of the 1989 Childrens Act.2 Commitment to team working and a flexibleapproach.3 An openness to new ideas and innovative ways ofworking.4 A positive view of children/young people beinglooked after.5 Good communication skills, both verbal andwritten.6 NVQ 3 working towards NVQ 47 Self motivated, and able to motivate staff group.8 Ability to work on own initiative to ensurestability and security of residents.DESIRABLE1 4 years experience of working with children, 2years experience in supervisory capacity.2 Ability to motivate staff, monitoring progress,formulating action plans etc, as necessary.3 Full clean driving licence.4 Ability to work within agreed budgets.5 An understanding of challenging behaviour.6 An understanding of management skills.7 Ability to respond appropriately as and whensituations occur.8 Proven ability to utilise staff resources toensure safety and wellbeing of the client residentsand staff.9 Ability to form meaningful relationships with theclient residents.10 Have a positive attitude to control anddiscipline within the needs of the residents.11 Possess an understanding of the paperwork andmanagement systems necessary to maintain aresidential home.12 Ability to work with, and form, professionalrelationship with Head of Homes.To Take up the challenge please apply below
