Description:

: Maintenance Engineering Consultant Scotland to GBP 31,500, pension, 25 days holiday and a relocation allowance if required. The company's maintenance engineering department manages large and small projects on behalf of its clients. These projects include computerised maintenance management system population and data manipulation, maintenance strategy analysis (by applying techniques such as Reliability Centered Maintenance and Risk Based Maintenance), the optimisation and cost benefit analysis of maintenance programs and spare parts analysis and rationalisation. We are looking for engineers who wish to be involved with this technology and to some degree have a background in maintenance. The role: Starting with P&ID's, develop equipment location hierarchies, enter the appropriate maintenance and parts data into a database system, carry out maintenance strategy analysis, write / amend appropriate job plans, PMR's and routes and assist in converting the data to the correct format for entry into the clients CMMS system. To produce work which meets the company QA standards, and to follow QA procedures where applicable and appropriate. To act as a member of the team in developing ME systems, QA procedures, software and reliability data. To liaise as required with other company groups, particularly with technical department for software development, and CM on joint projects. To support CM by the application of maintenance strategy reviews and reliability data as required. The work will be principally office based in Aberdeen with possible visits to company and client sites and offices, both within the UK and abroad. Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have a maintenance background, preferably with hands on experience in the field, have gained some experience in the oil and gas sector but experience in other industries would be acceptable. Involvement in maintenance reviews would be an advantage. Experience with RCM - Reliability Centered Maintenance is a must. Key skills will be understanding of maintenance systems and how they are used, ability to critically review or develop job plans for a wide variety of equipment types, application of maintenance strategy analysis techniques, computer literacy, with a minimum capacity to develop and compile reports in Word, and use Excel and Access as sources of data.
