The SW Engineer: MAC Protocols/device expert is part of the team responsible for developing embedded software for UWBdevices. In conjunction with the MAC Software Team, the VP of Engineering and other responsible managers the engineerwill perform the following functions:MAC protocol Software Design and ImplementationDesign, code, debug and test MAC protocol software that conforms to the WiMedia MAC specification. Advise on devicetesting / board bring-up issues. Liaise with IC and board-level design teams to resolve hardware/software integrationissues.Interoperability and conformance testingContribute to conformance and interoperability testing activities and where necessary, attend interoperability testingevents and standards meetings.Reference platform developmentProduce code for reference boards and customer demonstration boards including interfaces to third party chips/systems asappropriate. Review reference boards in conjunction with the team.Customer SupportProduce customer documentation and release to customer support. Provide second line customer support as required. Performbug fixes and quality audits as required.Skills & Experience:At least 5 years experience of using C or C++ to develop production quality embedded products. In-depth knowledge of awireless standard such as Bluetooth, IEEE802.11 or DECT essential. Relevant engineering degree essential. Experience ofOO design methodologies and UML. Software version control (CVS, Clearcase or similar) desirable. Good oral and writtenEnglish required.SPSi are operating as an Advertising Agency only in this respect.
