LINUX Network Services Engineer - Kent. To GBP 26,000 + Paid Overtime + Excellent bens.The client is looking for an experienced Network Services Engineer with proven expertise in supporting a LINUX networkenvironment. This position although based in Kent will require extensive travel as there is requirement to support remotesites both in the South East of England and some in Europe. You will be required to Design and build network topologies,provide second line day to day support of WAN and LAN infrastructure (i.E. Firewalls, routers, switches etc) and WANlinks (i.E. ADSL, SDSL, ISDN, Leased Line etc) as well as attending the remote sites for resolution of support issues.You will have a comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, be familiar with IP tables, DNS and VPN's, have the ability toconfigure routers preferably including CISCO equipment and have a knowledge of LINUX scripting.Any of the following would be highly advantageous: knowledge of Wifi including wireless hotspots, VOIP technologies,configuring serial communications devices, prior exposure to MS based products including Windows 2003, MS Exchange, MSSQL Server, IIS, .NET,etc. Experience of mobile technology including Blue-tooth, knowledge of server operating systemsincluding NT, 2000 and 2003. Ability to build from scratch server based operating systems, joining domains, DHCP,DNS andActive Directory and knowledge of mail systems including MS Exchange Server and Linux mail
