A fast growing rail company is looking for a Lead document controller to join their exciting and dynmic team.Opportunities to move up through the company are definately avaliable to the suitable candidate.Role and Responsibilities:To lead a team of Document Controllers and ensure consistent and accurate implementation of Document Control processes.Key Accountabilities: Lead the project document control team and maintain working knowledge within the Delivery Area to ensure continuity andsupport during periods of absence or over-load Regularly monitor and audit compliance with the document control procedures to ensure no discrepancies. Advise and work with the project team and third parties to devise, specify and agree the document control requirements Manage the application of defined and documented Document Control processes Ensure the maintenance of document control logs and data to enable metrics to be gathered and reported each month whichindicate document movement and status. Co-ordinate and monitor deliverables of the Document Controllers from internal and external parties(contractors/sub-contractors) Ensure that the appropriate manual or computerised reports and registers are maintained and produced Responsible for recognising deficiencies in agreed processes and make recommendations for improvements. Identify needs of all project parties and review processes to check that needs are met. Maintain all relevant tools, registers, libraries and processes to ensure proper control of project documentation.Required Skills and Experience: At least 6 years experience of documentation and processes within a Civil or general engineering based environment. Recent detailed practical use of an electronicdocument management system (EDMS) preferably Documentum. Ability to prioritise and delegate or manage a substantial workload to agreed timescales Experience of the Microsoft office suite of applications and scanning software. Ability to use the Internet is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral will be required to build relationships with team members. A good standard of higher secondary education with emphasis on numeracy skills. Experience of process development and application is desirable. Experience of managing a small team is desirableFantastic opportunity for growth and progression
