The Role:The J2EE/JAVA Project Manager provides technical project direction using the Company's OptimalJ during the applicationdevelopment life cycle. The Project Manager must understand how J2EE applications are built and be able to mentor anOptimalJ application development team. The Project Manager must know how to use OptimalJ to successfully deliverenterprise wide applications. Actual J2EE with EJBs and Struts experience is required. Extensive application developmentknowledge and the ability to train, mentor and direct a team using the Company's OptimalJ product is expected. TheProject Manager will be measured on the success of the project and turning the client into a reference account. ProjectManager may be asked to build a Proof of Concept application in support of a sales cycle. Assignments are generally 2-4weeks in duration although some may be longer. Extensive travel may be required at times but averaging 65%.Strong J2EE application development experience, leadership skills, consulting skills and teamwork are essential to theperformance of this position. Previous J2EE application development experience is mandatory.JOB REQUIREMENTSMandatory Requirements Non-technical: Proven ability to lead a J2EE development team Proven ability to work in a multi-tasking, teamwork environment. Ability to travel.Mandatory Requirements Technical: Extensive (3-5 years) applications development experience in Java. EJB Component Development. Entity Beans, Session Beans. Knowledge of MVC Model 2 Framework. Actual Struts implementation experience. Experience with object oriented development. Working knowledge of UML. Experience developing applications using Java. Working knowledge of relational database (RDBMS). Experience writing applications which use an RDBMS. Experience developing applications for the Web. (JSP, HTML, Java Web Server). Knowledge of J2EE architecture and standards. Knowledge of JMS, RMI, MTA, JCA.Desirable Skills Technical: Experience building J2EE applications using JBuilder, WebSphere AD, Control Center, or similar tools. Knowledge of XML. Experience deploying J2EE applications to an application server (iPlanet, Sun One AS, WebSphere AS, Oracle 9i AS,Weblogic, JBOSS, JONAS, etc.) Experience using Rational Rose Project management skillsDesirable Skills non-Technical: Ability to effectively speak multiple languages Strong well organized written and verbal communications skills. Recent IT consulting experience
