Description:

This position holds responsibility for all aspects of supply chain management from the point of contract placement and handover from procurement. Maintain acceptable inventory levels and ensure material and non-product related parts availability across the Site(s). Specific responsibilities will include the following:Ensuring efficiency of material flow in the most productive and cost-effective way and to lead improvement initiatives in this area. Manage material storage, delivery and logistics on site. Ensure inter-site transportation and shipment of vehicles to customers.Participate at the start-up phase of new contracts and organise the input of department, constantly aim for the improvement of the efficiency of the department.Management of the Inventory Control team, communicate objectives clearly to meet the priorities of the production lines. Prepare and manage available resources and budget of the department. Manage specific inventory/delivery issues at the production lines and provide daily management of any defects highlighted. Provide follow-up on any occurring changes (back orders, FRMs,)SMB-implementation - ensure that the SMB methods requirements are fulfilled (SMB documents) and that the department is strictly managed according to SMB-principles and tools.Experience: Candidates should have several years of professional experience in the field of inventory control, which will include effective storekeeping and warehouse management.You should be strongly process-minded, combined with strong production orientation. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage complex supply issues and a good understanding of JIT/MRP techniques.Ideally you should be educated to degree level or equivalent in an economic or technical discipline, ideally supported by CIPS qualification. Technical engineering knowledge would be advantageous for this role, as you will be the direct interface with a variety of internal functions.The preferred candidate will possess excellent communication skills at all levels. You must also be team focused and a people manager.
