An implementation manager is required to drive all aspects of moving a new application into the production environmentwithin a well-controlled financial services environment. This entails ensuring all aspects of the implementation arecovered, including (but not limited to):Environment - is the production hardware and software availableApplication implementation,, is the software loaded and available, , have program transfers been signed off., supportstaff trained etcData Set up and Migration has all production data been converted, has static data been set up, have interfacing systemsall been made live.Business Readiness has all user training been completed? Has testing been signed off, has liaison with clients beencompletedEach of these areas will require extensive consultation and will have specialists covering each area, the role of theimplementation manager is to ensure that each of these deliver into an overall timetable and to progress chase to ensureindividual plans are kept to and risk and issues are managed and contained. On small projects this level of progresschasing will be undertaken by the overall project manager, this particular project is large enough to warrant full timefocussed attention on this role which will report to the overall project manager.Skills required: - predominantly project management and a can do, date driven approach, with excellent communication andliaison skills and the ability to make things happen. A good technical understanding of the issues surrounding computersystems implementation including code control, the constraints of hardware ordering and commissioning etc., allied withprevious implementation experience of wide ranging financial applications such that issues like user training, parallelrunning workload constraints, weekend testing, roll back plans are all second nature. Technical environment is Java,Websphere, Sybase with IBM MQ series for messaging. Application is financial Debt with SWIFT messaging.
